Please stop hunting for elephants' tusks!

                Wild Orphans - Facts


  1. When their mother dies, the baby stays where the mother died.
  2. When they are found in the area, they are named after that area.
  3. When they are found, they are transport by a plane to safety.
  4. The rescuers feed them with milk so they grow bigger.
  5. They get fed until around two years old.
  6. They need to be looked after for a very long time.
  7. Young elephants are called calves.
  8. When they are found they are taken to a park with a big clear area.
  9. Hunters kill their mothers for their tusks.
  10. They are always found in the bush.

Learning intention: We are learning to understand what I read using De Bono's white thinking hat.

Success criteria: I know I can do this when I write 10 facts about Wild Orphans.
